The Kansas Bioscience Authority was created by the Kansas Economic Growth Act of 2004 to attract investment capital from around the world to support and develop the state’s capabilities and expertise in the biosciences. Since the KBA initiative was launched, Kansas has moved up to Number 5 in national rankings for biotechnology innovation and investment. Specific results from KBA’s investments include 1,195 new jobs, $212.6 million in capital investment, $86.6 million in new research funding and $48.3 million in equity investment.
